These crocodile leathers come from internationally certified farms according to the Washington Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES). A CITES mark is attached to each individual item, which confirms that it is crocodile leather from breeding farms and enables the individual leather and farms to be traced back.

The crocodile leather we use comes exclusively from licensed crocodile farms, which breed the animals not only for their skin, but also for the excellent meat. The farms are obliged to release 5% of all newly hatched animals into the wild every year and therefore make a significant contribution to species conservation.
Due to the worldwide ban on crocodile leather, which comes from the wild, as well as the strict requirements of crocodile farms, the natural population of crocodile caimans has increased steadily and they are listed as not threatened with extinction.
Compliance with the international Washington Convention on the Protection of Species is strictly controlled by international authorities such as CITES based in Switzerland, as well as by national environmental authorities.
TANNERY
Dona Tello works with specially specialized tanneries for exotic leather. The companies in which we have our leather tanned are selected and regularly checked to ensure that the entire tanning process meets the highest international standards.
We attach great importance to the fact that all crocodile leather is gently tanned without the harmful chrome VI. After tanning and dyeing, each leather undergoes a final quality control by hand.
